Have you ever felt like you are losing too much sleep lately? Do you always feel tired even in the morning when you have just woken up and about to start your day?
I feel the same way. I have been feeling exhausted every time I wake up. Even when I just arrived at work, I feel like I have done so much already.
I realized that it is not a good thing, as it has also affected my work performance and how I interact with people. Aside from feeling tired all the time, I have also become moody and extremely sensitive.
Why We Need to Have a Good Sleep
Sleep plays a very important role in our physical health and in our entire well-being. During sleep, our body is continuously working to maintain our healthy brain and body systems.
It repairs our body tissues and cells, regulates our blood circulation and normalizes our breathing pattern. That is why when we don’t get the necessary sleep our body needs, we feel out of energy and we tend to perform lesser than our maximum potential.
Hence, I have researched some good sleep home remedies that we can all try to overcome this problem.
What are Some Good Sleep Home Remedies
1. Taking a Bath
You need to make yourself feel fresh and comfortable to be able to rest well. During the day, our body go through a lot of stress. Sometimes, no matter how tired our body is, we still cannot easily go to sleep.
One good way to make yourself feel relaxed and comfortable is by taking either a warm or a cold bath. You can also add a few drops of fragrance that will help invoke sleep.
2. Use Aloe Vera and Essential Oils
It is known that aloe vera and some essential oils like coconut and camphor oil help make you feel refreshed when you use them on your scalp. Use it and massage it gently onto your scalp to get a good night sleep.
3. Drink Milk and Honey
This is already a common way of getting a good sleep, but it is also very effective. Drinking a cup of milk mixed with honey will bring sleep naturally and will also increase blood circulation while you hibernate.
4. Drink Jasmine Tea
Jasmine’s sweet and mildness has the ability to keep your nerves under control while you sleep. Sometimes it is even better to put a Jasmine flower around your room so you can smell it whenever. It will help reduce stress, thus making your sleep a whole lot better.
5. Sleep in a Comfortable Room
Make your bedroom look and feel comfortable. Use a soft mattress and clean bedsheet all the time. Also, try to sleep without the lights on or sleep with a dim lighting.
6. Get a Massage
Sometimes all your body really needs is a good massage. For some of you who experience interrupted sleep and insomnia just like me, one good home remedy is using an electric handheld massager.
An electric handheld massager is often times more preferable than going to a massage spa. It is affordable and easy to store and bring anywhere. It can relieve muscle pain, help you relax and recover from stress and regulate your blood circulation.
Handheld massagers are not that difficult to use. They have various buttons that you can choose from. Each of these buttons has different and specific functions. You need to read the instructions that come with the device very well, so you would know how each button works.
Every part of your body has different needs. Your legs and arms, for example, requires more speed, while your shoulders, back and neck may require more pressure and vibration. You can see how much your body parts can handle by doing a test first.
You can use a handheld massager for a maximum of twenty minutes. You can also use it twice a day, and not more than that.
The vibration and percussion that handheld massager give will definitely help you a lot especially in relaxing, getting rid of stress and getting a good sleep. With this device, you can now say goodbye to your insomnia, just like me.
